Q: How does the competition actually work?
A: Contestants will pre-qualify at the Personal Computer Museum (13 Alma Street) on September 18, 2010.
Qualification is based on the percentage of correct notes achieved during gameplay and the score achieved in a specific song per
age category (to be revealed day of the event). The top 16 contestants in
each age category will move ahead into the competition proper which will take place at Harmony Square, Downtown Brantford, on September 25, 2010. The final
winner will then be determined through elimination.
Q: Is there a cost?
Registration for the competition is $10. Paying this fee does not guarantee that you will make the competition
at Harmony Square. You can pay the fee as many times as you wish to improve your score.
Q: What hardware is the game running on?
The qualifications take place on either an Xbox 360 or a PS3. The final competition will take place
on a PS3. The semi-finals may include a 360.
Q: What can I win?
The top prize is $1,000 in cash. Each age category winner will win a $200 valued prize. The best dressed band will win
$200 valued prize for a total of $2,000 in prizes.
Q: Which version of the game is being used? What level can I be expected to play at?
The competition will be conducted using Guitar Hero 5. You should be able to play at least at the hard level.
Q: Can I bring my own Guitar?
In the interest of fairness, contestants must use the supplied guitar.
Q: Should I pre-register?
While not completely necessary, pre-registration will speed up the time required for you to get
started the day of. We recommend it!
